This single-family house, designed for a young couple, allows to fully experience the spectacular geographical location of the site. The view, which allows to see from Como and the Po Valley to Mendrisiotto and the Alps, is captured by a living room widely glazed on three sides and in direct contact with the surrounding garden. The upper level, with the sleeping rooms, contrasts as a massive and more enclosed body. The roof, with both pitches facing the valley, opens the inner space towards the mountain and the morning light. The expression of the volume relates to the industrial buildings of the valley. The level changes are clearly perceptible outside and inside the house and create a spatial continuum that refers to artificial terracing, characteristic elements of alpine construction.
