The nursery school building dates from 1970, with a first extension in 1974. It stands within a large green area created by the artificial filling of the Val Gersa stream, where other public sports facilities have been built over the years.
The municipality, which rejected the idea of a complete replacement of the building for financial reasons, requested a complete renovation with some extensions, to be carried out in several stages. The extension parts involved the kitchen/refectory and a covered outdoor area.
The new volumes reinforce those features that give quality to the building, its scale of small pavilions within a park with large pitched roofs under which the teaching spaces are located.
In a very simple and sustainable way, emphasising the architectural languages already present, the aim is to give a second life to a school building in order to bring it up to a current standard.
