The courtyard house typology, a spatiality found in the houses of the adjacent core, has been interpreted in a contemporary key as a response to the situation of proximity to a street, to a view that does not play a key role, and to the patrons' need for intimacy. The few openings to the outside frame landscape clippings and bring them inside the house; the inner patio merges outdoor and courtyard into a spatial continuum. This type of interior patio construction is in analogy with those found in the nearby historic village core. The ground floor is basically divided equally between interior rooms and the partially covered courtyard: this decision emphasizes the great importance of this space that is able to spatially and visually connect all the rooms of the house. Both the ground floor and the first floor have two large windows facing the inner courtyard; windows in the external facade open the kitchen and living room to the surrounding landscape of vineyards.
